# Dimensional Dates (Dimdates table)

On Presight platform, metrics are presented based on time series basis, and the data is visualized and analyzed over a sequential order of time points. Thus, a **Dimensional Dates** table, also called as ***Dimdates*** table, which contains information about dates to support time-based analysis and reporting, is default set up in your workspace. 

Once you finish connecting your database or importing CSV file, you will need to join **Date column** from transactional tables to **Date column** of <mark style="color:blue;">**Presight's Dimdates**</mark> table, with ***Relationship Type : `Belongs to`***. Then, your metrics can be presented properly.
