The Filtered Segment feature in Presight enables dynamic and intelligent segmentation of data, helping users streamline their workflows and gain deeper insights. Filtered Segments are automatically created when you view records with specific filters applied, and they can immediately be reused across other widgets for further analysis or breakdowns.
A Filtered Segment is a dynamic segment that the app creates automatically when you trigger a Records Table with filters applied. It represents a subset of your data that matches the applied filter criteria, enabling you to easily reuse this segment in other widgets for deeper analysis.
In Segment: Indicates data points that match the filter criteria.
Not In Segment: Indicates data points that do not match the filter criteria.
Filtered Segments can be applied across charts, tables, or other widgets for further filtering, breakdowns, and analysis.
Filtered Segments are automatically created when both conditions are met:
A Records Table is triggered (e.g., by right-clicking a chart or table and selecting "Show All Records").
At least one filter is applied to the Records Table view.
If you open the Customers Table and view all customers, no Filtered Segment will be created because there are no filters applied.
However, if you apply a filter such as:
Customer Category = Gift Store Then Presight will automatically create a Filtered Segment named “Gift Store Customers”, which will identify:
In Segment: Customers that belong to the "Gift Store" category.
Not In Segment: All other customers.
Filtered Segments are immediately available for use across your workspace and widgets. Here’s how you can leverage them:
Use the Filtered Segment to analyze other metrics for the specific group of data.
Example: Apply the "Gift Store Customers" segment to a Revenue Bar Chart to compare sales performance for "Gift Store Customers" versus other customer categories.
Apply the Filtered Segment as a filter in other widgets to isolate data relevant to the segment.
Example: Filter a Sales Table to show only transactions from customers in the "Gift Store Customers" segment.
Combine the segment with other filters or metrics for deeper insights.
Example: Use the "Gift Store Customers" segment as a baseline for a Funnel Chart to track conversion rates of Gift Store Customers through a sales pipeline.
Efficiency: Automatically created when you apply filters, saving time from manual setup.
Reusability: Instantly available across widgets, eliminating the need to recreate filters.
Deeper Insights: Enables focused analysis of specific subsets of your data, such as customer groups, product categories, or time-based segments.
Flexibility: Easily toggle between "In Segment" and "Not In Segment" to compare data points within and outside the segment.
Filtered Segments are dynamic, meaning they update as the underlying data or filters change.
The name of the segment is generated based on the applied filter (e.g., "Gift Store Customers").
You can apply multiple Filtered Segments to a single widget for layered analysis.
