Interacting with Future Data

Create a Simulation

Simulation feature is currently supported only on Bar charts

When you have more than two metrics with dependent relationships, you can run a simulation scenario with one assumption on one metric to see changes happen in other metrics. This can happen in both forward and reverse direction.

For example, you have a dependent metric: AOV = Internet Sales / Order Quantity (IS).

If you have an input that AOV will increase 171.7 unit, Presight will provide a result with 3,152,789 unit increased in Internet Sales and 4,524.1 unit decreased in Order Quantity (IS).

  • By default, your data doc has its Compare Mode turned off. As soon as you start interacting with a future data point like mentioned about it will automatically turned on. You can feel free to turn them on and off as you wish.

  • The simulation result are only saved on the doc level, meaning changes you made in one doc will not be reflected in other docs.

  • The simulation can only be viewed at the same-level metrics at similar granularity.

Reseting a Simulation

If you want to inspect the simulations in your doc, or simply to reset it, navigate to the graph icon on the menu located top right of your doc. Here you can simple choose to view, undo last single action, or completely reset the state of the data in your doc.
